Jangseogak Archives and Silhak Museum to Strengthen Collaboration on Choi Han-gi Research

Signing of Academic Exchange Agreement
Compilation of Basic Materials on Works and Family Documents Planned

Jangseogak Archives and Silhak Museum to Strengthen Collaboration on Choi Han-gi Research Academic Exchange Memorandum of Understanding Signing Ceremony

On November 27, Jangseogak Archives of the Academy of Korean Studies signed an academic exchange memorandum of understanding with the Silhak Museum of the Gyeonggi Cultural Foundation.

Going forward, the two institutions will collaborate in various fields, including basic research and joint utilization of their collections, co-organizing academic conferences related to cultural heritage and Korean studies, publishing collections of materials, annotated translations, and research books, as well as exchanging professional researchers.

This agreement is drawing particular attention as Jangseogak Archives recently discovered "Tonggyeong," a work by Choi Han-gi that was previously known only by name. Collaborative research with the Silhak Museum, which houses a significant collection of old books and documents from the Choi Han-gi family, is expected to gain momentum.

A representative from Jangseogak Archives stated, "We plan to compile a comprehensive collection of basic materials on Choi Han-gi's works and his family's documents, and to expand in-depth research and develop specialized research topics centered on Choi Han-gi."
