The Korean Red Cross (Acting President Kim Hongguk) announced that the Seoul Branch of China Construction Bank (headed by Ok-Gyeol Wang) delivered a donation of 20 million won on November 27 to provide emergency support for families in crisis.
The donation from China Construction Bank will be used to support families in crisis through the Korean Red Cross's "Hope Windmill Emergency Support Program." This program is a social safety net initiative that provides prompt assistance to households struggling to make ends meet due to unexpected accidents, illnesses, unemployment, or disasters. The funds are used for urgent needs such as living expenses, housing costs, medical bills, and educational expenses.
Ok-Gyeol Wang, Head of the Seoul Branch of China Construction Bank, stated, "Growing together with the local community is an important responsibility for any company," adding, "We hope that, through the meaningful work of the Korean Red Cross, we can offer at least some help to neighbors facing hardships."
Park Jongsul, Secretary General of the Korean Red Cross, responded, "The ongoing commitment to sharing by the Seoul Branch of China Construction Bank has been a great source of strength for families in crisis. We are deeply grateful for your efforts to secure resources that allow us to provide swift support to those in urgent need."
The Seoul Branch of China Construction Bank began its partnership with the Korean Red Cross in 2013 and has since continued its philanthropic activities, focusing on supporting families in crisis. To date, the cumulative donations delivered to the Korean Red Cross amount to 180 million won.
