In recognition of the Week for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, Gyeonggi Province will conduct an illegal filming prevention campaign at Jungang Station Square in Ansan City on November 28.
Gyeonggi Province has organized this joint campaign with Ansan City to raise awareness about the significance of the Week for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, promote the prevention of sex crimes in daily life, and enhance public safety awareness among citizens.
The campaign will include participation from the Gyeonggi Women’s Vision Center, Ansan City, Danwon and Sangnok Police Stations, and the Gyeonggi Western Sunflower Center. These organizations will distribute promotional materials containing information on how to respond to and report incidents of violence against women, and will deliver messages about eradicating sexual violence and illegal filming through OX quizzes and roulette events.
Gyeonggi Province operates a free illegal filming detection equipment rental service to ensure that all residents can use facilities with peace of mind. Equipment such as infrared detectors and thermal imaging cameras can be reserved through the Gyeonggi Women’s Vision Center website (gg.go.kr/woman) or by phone.
Lee Jihyun, Director of the Gyeonggi Women’s Vision Center, stated, “Taking the Week for the Elimination of Violence Against Women as an opportunity, we are further strengthening cooperation between the public sector, local government, and police to solidify a safe environment in the community. We will do our utmost to enhance the sense of safety among residents through various preventive activities, including joint inspections, campaigns, and the equipment rental service.”
