As the cold winds blow, Uljin’s delivery app is warming things up first.

Uljin County in North Gyeongsang Province (Governor Son Byungbok) will launch a discount event for the public delivery app Meokkaebi starting December 1, aiming to ease the burden of delivery fees for small business owners and to revitalize the local economy.

To mark the year-end, Uljin County plans to issue 10,000 Meokkaebi discount coupons to expand consumer benefits.

Consumers can use a 5,000 won discount coupon once per day through the Meokkaebi app for orders of 15,000 won or more, until all coupons are distributed.

The public delivery app Meokkaebi is a platform that offers benefits to both small business owners and consumers. Small business owners can register as partner stores without any membership or advertising fees, and the app operates with a low commission rate of 1.5%, reducing their operational burden. Consumers can enjoy various benefits, such as using discount coupons, paying with the Uljin Sarang Card, and earning cashback on payments.

Applications to become a Meokkaebi partner store can be submitted through the Meokkaebi Owner’s website or customer service center. Consumers can use the service by installing the Meokkaebi app from the App Store or Play Store and signing up as a member.

Since its launch on September 1, 2022, the Uljin County Meokkaebi app has received a great response from local residents, with 255 registered partner stores, a cumulative total of 310,000 orders, a total transaction amount of 7,722,900,000 won, and an average Uljin Sarang Card payment rate of 77% as of November this year.

Governor Son Byungbok stated, "I hope this special year-end discount event for the public delivery app Meokkaebi will help increase sales for small business owners in Uljin County as we wrap up the year," adding, "We will continue to promote a variety of support measures and events so that the platform can grow to provide benefits to both small business owners and consumers."
