On the 27th, the Financial Services Commission announced that starting the following day, users will be able to access Silson24 via Naver and Toss without needing to install the Silson24 application or sign up for membership.

Naver and Toss plan to develop services that allow users to complete the entire process from hospital reservation and payment to insurance claim in a one-stop manner.

Consumers who make payments at hospitals linked to Silson24 using payment methods registered on online platforms such as credit cards will receive a "push notification for insurance claim." This service is designed to help prevent consumers from missing out on insurance claims.

Additionally, from the following day until February 28 of next year, the Insurance Development Institute will provide 3,000 won in Naver Pay or Toss points to consumers who complete their Silson24 insurance claims through Naver or Toss.

The digitalized indemnity insurance claim service is a system in which, upon a consumer’s request, a medical institution transmits the required claim documents directly to the insurance company.

This system was first implemented in October of last year for hospitals and public health centers (Phase 1), and was expanded last month to clinics and pharmacies (Phase 2).

As of the 25th, 23,102 medical institutions are connected to Silson24, accounting for 22% of the total 104,925 institutions.

Medical institutions that have agreed to participate in Silson24 or use electronic medical records (EMR) systems that are already participating in Silson24 account for 57.7% of all institutions.

The Financial Services Commission explained that the number of connected medical institutions is expected to continue increasing following the development and distribution of the integration program.

The Financial Services Commission, together with the Korea Life Insurance Association, the General Insurance Association of Korea, and the Insurance Development Institute, is supporting medical associations, pharmacists’ associations, and EMR companies. They are encouraging participation by providing support for server costs and other incentives.

However, the pace of expanding participation among medical institutions has slowed because some large EMR companies have refused to participate, demanding excessive fees during discussions on support measures.

The Financial Services Commission plans to continue encouraging participation in Silson24 among medical institutions and EMR companies in cooperation with related organizations. They also intend to improve any inconveniences in the Silson24 service to enhance the convenience of insurance claims for the public.

An official from the Financial Services Commission stated, "Even if a medical institution wants to connect to Silson24, it is difficult if the EMR company does not participate. They can either request the EMR company to develop an integration program for Silson24 or switch to an EMR company that is already participating in Silson24."
