AI- and Digital-Based Lesson Innovation Workshop
Sharing Question-Centered Learning and Classroom Case Studies
The Busan Metropolitan Office of Education (Superintendent Kim Seokjun) will hold the "2025 Collaborative Growth Lesson Sharing Workshop" on November 29 at the Grand Hall and Humanities and Social Sciences Building of Busan National University of Education, targeting around 300 elementary and special education teachers, as well as educational professionals in the Busan area.
This event, under the slogan "Creating True Happiness Through Small Actions in the Classroom," aims to strengthen teachers' capacity for lesson innovation through voluntary participation and collaboration.
The workshop will consist of three parts: a keynote lecture, breakout sessions, and a lesson-sharing program. In the first part, Professor Ok Hyunjin (Ewha Womans University) will deliver a keynote speech titled "Deep Learning Begins with Questions: Awakening the Heart of the Classroom," presenting the significance of question-centered lessons and directions for deep learning in the classroom.
The second part will feature breakout sessions led by elementary lesson innovation networks in various fields such as Korean language, mathematics, and autonomous school hours. There will be presentations, practical sessions, and discussions on AI- and digital-based question- and inquiry-centered lessons. Through a new collaborative research network launched by the Busan Metropolitan Office of Education this year, universities and elementary teachers will work together to establish a Busan-style lesson innovation model.
The third part will be a lesson-sharing session, where selected teachers will present their lesson cases and participate in discussions. The process of how small changes and actions in lessons lead to teacher growth and a happier classroom will be shared, along with outstanding examples from leading schools that promote a culture of questioning.
Superintendent Kim Seokjun stated, "This workshop will serve as an opportunity to spread a culture of autonomous and proactive lesson innovation in schools and to accelerate the transition to AI- and digital-based lessons. We will continue to support teacher-led lesson innovation so that teacher growth leads to student growth."
This workshop is expected to be an important first step in spreading question-centered and digital-based lesson innovation in Busan schools and in creating a learning ecosystem where teachers and students grow together.
