Members of the National Solidarity for the Elimination of Discrimination Against Persons with Disabilities (NSDPD) held a press conference on June 16 at Gyeongbokgung Station in Seoul to mark the launch of the National Policy Planning Committee, urging the establishment of policies related to disability, including guaranteeing the rights of deinstitutionalized persons with disabilities and ensuring the health rights of persons with disabilities. Seoul Metro announced at around 8:25 a.m. on November 27 that "due to an ongoing rally and protest, southbound (toward Oido) trains on Line 4 are currently passing through Hyehwa Station without stopping."
The NSDPD is holding the protest because the 2026 government budget bill, which has been sent to the National Assembly, does not include funding for the rights of persons with disabilities.
