Gyeonggi Province Governor Kim Dongyeon attended the '2025 Week to Eradicate Violence Against Women Commemoration Ceremony' held at Planet Gyeonggi Hall in the Gyeonggi Provincial Library on the 26th, where he expressed his determination to eradicate gender-based violence, stating, "Gyeonggi Province will stand together to completely eliminate violence against women from our society."
On this day, Governor Kim said, "November 25 was the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, and this week is the Week to Eradicate Violence, but the message for us is that every day of the year should be the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women or the Day for the Eradication of Gender-Based Violence."
Governor Kim continued, "According to statistics, one in three adult women experiences violence at least once in her lifetime, and the forms of violence are becoming increasingly diverse and sophisticated. What is especially egregious is violence stemming from power dynamics. I believe that violence perpetrated by those in positions of greater influence against those who are less powerful is the very first form of violence that must be eradicated from our society."

He added, "Please do not hesitate or feel ashamed about violence against women. I hope you will have the courage to help us completely eliminate violence from our society," promising, "Gyeonggi Province will stand with you until the day gender-based violence disappears."
On this day, Governor Kim also emphasized, "Gyeonggi Province has responded to gender-based violence with absolute determination and resolve," and introduced the activities of the Gyeonggi Province Integrated Response Team for Gender-Based Violence.
The Gyeonggi Province Integrated Response Team for Gender-Based Violence was launched in April last year to prevent violence against women and to protect and support victims.
The team provides one-stop integrated services for victims of gender-based violence, including counseling, legal, medical, and housing support. It also supports victims of dating violence and male victims, who are often left in blind spots due to insufficient legal grounds.
Since its launch, as of November, the team has provided 90,743 services-including emergency rescue, medical expense support, psychological healing programs, housing support, and referrals to investigative and related agencies-to 40,488 victims.
