Local Road Route 302 connects Pyeongtaek Port, Poseung National Industrial Complex, Cheongbuk Residential District, and Godeok New Town. The newly opened Ihwa-Samgye (2) section is a four-lane, two-way road stretching 6.27 kilometers from Hongwon-ri in Poseung-eup to Hyeongok-ri in Cheongbuk-eup. The project cost totaled 168.5 billion won, with construction starting in August 2020 and completion achieved in 5 years and 4 months.
Of the construction section, the 2.1-kilometer stretch from Hongwon-ri to Okgil-ri in Cheongbuk-eup was opened first on the 25th, while the remaining section from Okgil-ri to Hyeongok-ri is scheduled to open on the 1st of next month.
With the road's opening, the travel distance between Poseung Industrial Complex and Godeok New Town will be reduced from 24 kilometers to 18 kilometers, a 6-kilometer reduction. This is expected to accelerate logistics flow and greatly improve convenience for residents.
The expanded section includes six bridges and six intersections. The city explained that a three-dimensional road design, tailored to the local terrain, was adopted to ensure both safety and efficiency.
Pyeongtaek Mayor Jung Jangsun stated, "The newly opened road is an important transportation infrastructure that organically connects Pyeongtaek Port, industrial complexes, and new towns. We will continue our efforts to expand the road network to enhance convenience for citizens and boost the logistics competitiveness of businesses."
