On November 25, Yeongam County in South Jeolla Province held a breakfast meeting with companies from the Daebul Industrial Complex at the Daebul Shipbuilding & Marine Center, where they shared the "Energy Local Production and Local Consumption Green City 100" policy and discussed strategies to respond to RE100.
The meeting was attended by entrepreneurs from the Daebul Business Association, the Jeonnam Shipbuilding & Marine Equipment Cooperative, and officials from the Jeonnam Technopark Shipbuilding & Marine Center, among others.
Participants listened to an explanation that Yeongam County is pursuing the "Energy Transition Project" based on a renewable energy cluster established in the Samho-eup and Miyam-myeon areas. The project focuses on attracting large companies, providing basic energy income to residents, and developing a supporting city. They also shared the policy direction.
In addition, participants exchanged a range of opinions on how to respond to changes in the global industrial environment, where RE100 has become an essential requirement. They also reviewed regional energy strategies in connection with the government's policy to expand renewable energy.
Woosung Hee, Governor of Yeongam County, stated, "The Daebul Industrial Complex is a key hub for Yeongam County's economy, and the core of corporate competitiveness lies in achieving RE100 and transitioning to eco-friendly practices. We will spare no effort in providing support to create a business-friendly environment."
