A truck that crossed the center line collided with an oncoming motorcycle, resulting in one fatality and one person seriously injured.
According to the Sancheong Police Station in Gyeongnam on November 24, at around 3:10 p.m. the previous day, a 1-ton truck driven by a man in his 70s, identified as Mr. A, crossed the center line and struck a motorcycle coming from the opposite direction on a local road in Sindeung-myeon, Sancheong-gun.
As a result of the accident, the motorcycle driver, a man in his 70s identified as Mr. B, died, and a woman in her 60s, identified as Ms. C, who was riding with him, sustained serious injuries and was transported to a hospital.
The two people on the motorcycle were reported to be husband and wife.
Mr. A, the truck driver, was returning after inspecting a nearby construction site, and it was confirmed that he was neither under the influence of alcohol nor driving without a license at the time of the accident.
The police have booked Mr. A on charges of causing death and injury under the Act on Special Cases Concerning the Settlement of Traffic Accidents and are investigating the exact circumstances of the accident.
