A man who attempted to murder an employee by wielding a weapon at an art academy in Gangnam-gu, Seoul has been arrested.
On November 24, the Seoul Gangnam Police Station announced that they had arrested a man in his 50s, identified as A, on charges of attempted murder the previous day.
The Seoul Central District Court issued an arrest warrant for A after conducting a pretrial detention hearing, citing concerns over destruction of evidence and flight risk.
According to the police, at approximately 11:50 a.m. on November 21, A allegedly stabbed a woman in her 20s with a weapon at the academy and then fled the scene.
The police analyzed CCTV footage and identified A fleeing in a taxi. In cooperation with the Mapo Police Station, they apprehended A in Mapo-gu.
It was reported that A had interviewed for an administrative position at the academy, but after failing to secure the job, caused a disturbance.
The victim is not in life-threatening condition.
