The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism will hold the third session of its "Co-Creating Arts Policy Stories" event on November 27 at 3:00 p.m. at the Jeontong Performance Creation Maru in Jongno-gu, Seoul, under the theme "Strategies for Promoting the Gugak Cultural Industry."
"Co-Creating Arts Policy Stories" is a roundtable hosted by the ministry to introduce arts policies and gather input from the field. At this session, the ministry will present content related to the Gugak Cultural Industry that will be incorporated into the basic plan for the Gugak Promotion Act, and will broadly collect feedback from the Gugak community to inform policy design.
With officials from the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the National Gugak Center, the Foundation for the Promotion of Traditional Performing Arts, and Gugak Broadcasting participating, the event will collect on-site opinions and share policy proposals on topics such as the content to be included in the basic plan for the Gugak Promotion Act, Gugak performances and the tourism industry, fostering early-stage Gugak cultural industry startups, and the Gugak digital content industry. This will be followed by a public discussion to explore strategies for promoting the Gugak cultural industry.
A policy official from the ministry stated, "This event is a platform for listening to the voices from the Gugak field and reflecting them in policy," adding, "The ministry will establish the foundation for the Gugak cultural industry and develop strategies for its sustainable growth."
