"Beyond Simple Support, Toward Sustainable Sharing"
Sejung Group, which has been running the "Love House Renovation" project for 17 years, will reach its 330th milestone this year.
Sejung Group, the first in the fashion industry to establish a social welfare foundation, has been actively engaged in social contribution activities. These efforts are rooted in the company's philosophy of fulfilling its social roles and responsibilities, as well as Chairman Sohnho Park's philosophy of sharing management. Since 1986, Sejung has practiced sharing in various social welfare fields, taking the lead in providing practical help to neighbors in need and creating a warm local community.
The "Love House Renovation" project, Sejung Group's flagship social contribution program, began in 2008 with the goal of improving the residential environment for vulnerable groups. Last year, the project reached its 300th milestone. Starting this year, Sejung Nanum Foundation has strengthened its leadership in the initiative and expanded the scope of residential welfare. The support now goes beyond partial improvements such as wallpaper and flooring replacement to include fundamental renovations like roof leak repairs and exterior wall reinforcement.
The 330th beneficiary is a single elderly resident born in 1947, living in Seosam-dong, Geumjeong-gu, Busan. Selected through recommendations, Mr. Choi, who was designated as a basic livelihood recipient this year and is experiencing mild dementia symptoms, was unable to receive even home care services due to poor living conditions. The unsanitary environment, including water leaks, mold, and pests, posed significant risks for infection and health deterioration.
On November 24, Sejung Group employees and Geumjeong Welfare Association, which has been volunteering in the region for 35 years, will visit the site to carry out volunteer activities. Areas requiring professional construction were handled by Nesty, an interior and construction management company affiliated with Sejung Group. The entire construction cost of approximately 10 million won was covered by Sejung Nanum Foundation, and basic food and daily necessities will also be provided.
Sohnho Park, Chairman of Sejung Nanum Foundation, stated, "Sejung's sharing is not a one-time support, but aims to deliver sustainable hope to those who need it most," adding, "Through expanded residential welfare support, we will continue to practice the value of coexistence within the local community."
Yoon Ilhyun, Mayor of Geumjeong-gu, who participated in the event, said, "This support goes beyond sponsorship and is a meaningful movement to protect the safety and dignity of vulnerable groups," adding, "The district office will also strengthen customized welfare support for residents and work harder to improve the quality of life for neighbors in need."
Sejung Nanum Foundation has been collaborating with Busan Environmental Corporation for seven years on the "Happy Roof for Low-Income Families" project to improve slate roofs. This year as well, the foundation supported 30 million won for asbestos roof improvement for more than 20 households.
