The National Innovation Party announced that it held a national party member convention at Osco in Cheongju, North Chungcheong Province, on the afternoon of the 23rd and elected Cho as the new party leader.
Running unopposed in the party leadership race, Cho received overwhelming support, securing a cumulative approval rate of 98.6% in the vote.
In his policy speech that day, Leader Cho stated, "We will officially embark on a new journey," adding, "We will reach the harbor of the 'Seventh Republic.'"
Shin Jangshik and Jeong Chunsaeng were elected as the two Supreme Council members. Of the three new Supreme Council positions, the National Innovation Party elects two, while the remaining one is appointed by the party leader.
