Chairman An Jeongmin Vows to Promote Inter-Korean Coexistence and Local Engagement

The National Unification Advisory Council (hereinafter referred to as the National Unification Advisory Council) Goheung County Chapter, led by Chairman An Jeongmin, held the inauguration ceremony for the 22nd term on the 20th at the Kim Yeonsu Room in Goheung Culture Center.

Approximately 700 members and guests attended the inauguration event to celebrate the beginning of the new chapter.

The ceremony included the presentation of a plaque of appreciation and farewell address by former Chairman Kim Youngjin, followed by the inaugural address by the new Chairman An Jeongmin. Congratulatory remarks were delivered by Ko Youngmin, Mayor of Goheung County, and Ryu Jedong, Chairman of the Goheung County Council. Song Sujin, Chairman of the Sasang District Chapter in Busan, also attended and offered congratulatory remarks.

The event was further highlighted by congratulatory messages from National Assemblyman Moon Geumjoo (representing Goheung, Boseong, Jangheung, and Gangjin for the Democratic Party), Governor Kim Youngrok, National Assemblyman Shin Jeonghoon, and National Assemblyman Lee Gaeho.

In his inaugural address, Chairman An Jeongmin stated, "I will put into practice in Goheung County the philosophy of coexistence and mutual prosperity in inter-Korean relations emphasized by President Lee Jaemyung."

He went on to emphasize, "We will broaden our understanding of North Korea and expand private-level exchange and cooperation projects," adding, "I will value the voice of each and every resident and strive to be a chairman who is active in the community."

Chairman An is known to have maintained close communication with the local community, having previously served as Vice Chairman of the 21st National Unification Advisory Council Goheung County Chapter, President of the Goheung County Sports Council, and a member of the Goheung County Council.
