The South Korean team proved its competitiveness on the global stage by achieving impressive results in major categories, including 5th and 6th place in Women's Physique, 6th place in Body Fitness, and 7th place in Fit Model.
Choi Moonhee, head coach of the national bodybuilding team, expressed deep affection and gratitude towards the athletes immediately upon their return, saying, "First of all, I sincerely thank the Korea Bodybuilding Association for its unwavering support. Above all, I am truly proud of our athletes who, despite unfavorable physical conditions compared to Western athletes and difficult training environments, did not give up until the end and performed admirably on stage. The results we achieved this time mean more than just rankings. It is a valuable outcome because we confirmed that we can compete at the highest level among world-class athletes."
Coach Choi went on to present a specific vision for the future of Korean bodybuilding, emphasizing, "While it is the athlete who fights alone on stage, optimal condition management and detailed data analysis are entirely the responsibility of the team. Moving forward, we will further enhance our international competitiveness through 'data-driven training,' which involves quantifying each athlete's physique and condition with precision."
Coach Choi also expressed a strong desire to see bodybuilding teams become even more active in Korea, stating, "Bodybuilding should no longer be considered a minor sport, but rather a popular discipline that anyone can easily access and enjoy, and ultimately, it should become a national sport. I will take the lead in driving positive change on the ground, so that recreational and elite sports can coexist and grow together, creating a healthy structure for the sport." He thus demonstrated his passionate commitment to expanding the base of bodybuilding and fitness in Korea.
