Tri-Port Strategy Links to Middle Eastern Logistics Hub
Boosting Global Supply Chain Cooperation

The Busanjinhae Free Economic Zone Authority (Director Park Seongho) announced on November 19 (local time) that it visited the headquarters of AD Ports Group in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, and held high-level discussions to expand cooperation in the port and industrial city sectors.

This visit provided an opportunity for Director Park Seongho and key executives of AD Ports Group to meet in person and discuss strategic directions to concretize the linkage between the 'Tri-Port Strategy' of Busan and Gyeongnam and Abu Dhabi's logistics hub.

AD Ports Group is a leading port and industrial development company in the Middle East, operating more than 10 global ports and terminals centered around Abu Dhabi, the capital of the UAE. Based on KEZAD (Khalifa Economic Zones Abu Dhabi), which covers 550 square kilometers, the company has built an economic ecosystem that integrates ports, manufacturing, and logistics. Recently, it has been ranked among the global top 20 port operators, further strengthening its presence in the international supply chain.

Throughout this year, the Authority has continuously promoted investment attraction activities targeting the Middle East, including the UAE Business Forum, in-flight magazine promotions in Abu Dhabi, and investment consultations with AD Ports Group. This visit is expected to serve as a pivotal moment, elevating previous exchanges to strategic discussions at a high level. Concrete cooperative projects are also anticipated in the future.

Through these discussions, both organizations agreed on the need to: ▲ expand trade and investment cooperation for mutual development between Busan Port, Jinhae New Port, and Abu Dhabi ports; ▲ broaden cooperation across the port, logistics, trade, and economic sectors; and ▲ activate business exchanges between companies in the respective free economic zones.

Director Park Seongho stated, "In order for Busan and Gyeongnam to become central players on the global logistics map, strategic cooperation with key logistics hubs in the Middle East is essential. By working with AD Ports Group and leveraging the Tri-Port Strategy that connects Busan Port, Jinhae New Port, and the new Gadeok Airport, we will link tangible investment attraction to the Busanjinhae Free Economic Zone and encourage direct investment from Middle Eastern companies."

The Authority plans to further strengthen its network with major Middle Eastern institutions, including AD Ports Group, and to broadly expand the foundation for cooperation between the Middle East and Busan-Gyeongnam through the development of joint programs and new investment-linked models.
