Car Driven by Man in His 70s Crashes Onto Sidewalk in Incheon, Leaving Mother and Daughter Seriously Injured

In Incheon, a vehicle driven by a man in his 70s crashed onto the sidewalk, leaving a woman in her 30s and her 2-year-old daughter in critical condition.


According to the Bupyeong Police Station in Incheon on the 18th, at around 12:23 p.m. that day, a sedan driven by Mr. A, a man in his 70s, sped onto the sidewalk from the exit of a public parking lot in Sipjeong-dong, Bupyeong-gu.

As a result of the accident, Ms. B, a woman in her 30s, was transported to the hospital in cardiac arrest, and her 2-year-old daughter also sustained serious injuries to her neck and legs.


Ms. B's pulse has reportedly returned, but she has not regained consciousness. She is currently being treated in the intensive care unit together with her daughter, C.


The driver, Mr. A, suffered a head injury and was taken to the hospital, but his life is not in danger.


It was found that Mr. A's vehicle had been stopped next to the payment machine at the parking lot exit before suddenly accelerating onto the sidewalk.


During the police investigation, Mr. A reportedly stated, "I think I made a driving mistake."
