Strengthening Safety Management with Four-Person, Two-Shift System
Mayor Seungwon Park: "Disaster Response Prioritizes Citizen Safety"

Gwangmyeong City in Gyeonggi Province will deploy dedicated personnel to its Disaster Control Center around the clock. This measure aims to ensure a swift and systematic response to disaster situations.

Gwangmyeong City to Operate Dedicated Personnel 24/7 at Disaster Control Center Gwangmyeong City is strengthening its 24-hour disaster response system by deploying dedicated personnel to the Disaster Control Center. On November 18, the city announced that, starting November 19, it will assign four dedicated staff members to the Disaster Control Center, which had previously been operated with semi-dedicated personnel. The center will now operate on a two-shift system.

To facilitate this, the city established a new "Disaster Situation Team" within the Safety Management Division during its organizational restructuring in July and hired two additional disaster response specialists.

The dedicated personnel will work in two-person day and night shifts, monitoring, responding to, and managing disaster situations 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Their main responsibilities include monitoring disaster situations, initial response and reporting, managing the disaster safety communication network, and operating disaster warning broadcasts.

The city expects that this reorganization will help secure the golden time during the initial stages of a disaster and significantly enhance its ability to manage disasters quickly and accurately.

Mayor Park Seungwon of Gwangmyeong City stated, "By operating dedicated personnel, we will further strengthen our disaster management foundation, prioritizing the safety of our citizens," adding, "We will continue to improve our disaster response system moving forward."
