Hwaseong City, Gyeonggi Province, announced on the 17th that it held the comprehensive completion ceremony for the 'Hwaseong into Technopol' program, a global talent development initiative by the Hwaseong Talent Development Foundation, at the ASM Korea headquarters in Dongtan on the 15th.

This program supports international exchanges and exploration of Fourth Industrial Revolution technologies for local high school and university students as part of the city's efforts to foster talent.
This year, the delegation visited global companies and institutions in Singapore, Europe, and the United States, and had discussions with local experts to cultivate a global mindset.
The completion ceremony was attended by Jung Myunggeun, Mayor of Hwaseong, Bae Jeongsu, Chairman of the Hwaseong City Council, city council members, Lee Youngseok, CEO of ASM Korea, Park Cheolsoo, President of Hwaseong City Research Institute, and others, who observed the students' achievements and celebrated their completion of the program.
During the event, five outstanding policy proposals discovered by the participants were also presented. The students introduced policies such as plans to establish a youth innovation hub in Hwaseong City and the development of signature local snacks that reflect the city's identity.
Mayor Jung stated, "I hope that our young people will continue to fully realize their potential and foster a healthy learning culture where they support each other's growth."

Meanwhile, prior to the completion ceremony, Mayor Jung visited the construction site of ASM Korea's new 'Innovation Manufacturing Center' and discussed ways to enhance mutual cooperation. The Innovation Manufacturing Center is a facility newly constructed and expanded by ASM Korea on its existing Hwaseong site.
Mayor Jung remarked, "The completion of ASM's Innovation Manufacturing Center will serve as a catalyst for Hwaseong City to become a key hub in the global semiconductor equipment industry," adding, "The city will spare no administrative support in various areas, including permits, infrastructure, and workforce development, to ensure that semiconductor equipment companies can grow stably."
In addition, Hwaseong City has been operating a dedicated team to support large-scale investment companies since last year to foster the semiconductor materials, components, and equipment industry.
