On October 19, the security system at the Louvre Museum in France was breached once again, just weeks after royal jewels were stolen by thieves.
According to media outlets such as Le Figaro on November 15 (local time), two Belgian TikTokers revealed in a post on social media on November 13 that they had hung their own artwork near Leonardo da Vinci's Mona Lisa inside the Louvre Museum.
These individuals are known for posting reckless challenge videos, and they took action to see whether security measures at the Louvre had actually been strengthened following the jewel theft incident.
In the video, they explained, "We made a frame that can be assembled with LEGO bricks. To pass through the security checkpoint, we had to separate it into several pieces, but we could reassemble it inside. We also rolled up the painting and brought it in that way." They filmed the entire process, from entering the Louvre to passing through the security checkpoint, and posted it on social media.
After passing the security checkpoint and arriving at the exhibition hall, they assembled the LEGO frame and their portrait on one side, then attached the LEGO frame to another wall near the Mona Lisa before leaving the scene.
Previously, they had played a similar prank at the Museum of Fine Arts in Ghent, Belgium. On May 31, they also hid for 27 hours in the restroom at Allianz Arena in Munich, Germany-the venue for the 2024-2025 UEFA Champions League final-and watched the match for free.
