Mayor Shin Sangjin Attends the 'Mulbit Garden Tancheon Marathon' in Seongnam
On November 15, Mayor Shin Sangjin of Seongnam visited the 'Mulbit Garden Tancheon Marathon' held on the Tancheon riverside at Ori Park to support citizens' healthy leisure activities.

Approximately 500 people attended the event, including Mayor Shin, members of the National Assembly, provincial and city council members, members and families of Seongnam YMCA, and local residents. The event began with a pre-ceremony performance by the Gachon University cheerleading team, followed by the opening ceremony. After warming up with a health exercise session, the main race officially started with the signal to begin.
The marathon featured two courses: 5 kilometers and 10 kilometers. The 5-kilometer course started from the Tancheon riverside at Ori Park and continued to Dolma Pedestrian Bridge, while the 10-kilometer course returned from Dolma Pedestrian Bridge and extended to Jeongja Ojak Pedestrian Bridge.

In his congratulatory speech, Mayor Shin expressed his gratitude, saying, "I would like to thank everyone who prepared for the marathon from early in the morning. Many people, from children to seniors, have joined us today, and I hope you all have an enjoyable day regardless of the rankings."
He continued, "For over 30 years, the Gumi-dong Sewage Treatment Plant was considered an undesirable facility, but the city has transformed it into Seongnam Mulbit Garden, a place for all citizens to enjoy. This makes today's event even more meaningful, and we will continue to develop Seongnam Mulbit Garden as a central space for citizens' health and relaxation, as well as a world-class attraction."

This marathon, hosted by Seongnam YMCA (Chairman Won Bokdeok), was organized to promote public health and foster community unity.
