About 200 people attended the opening ceremony, including Gijang County Governor Jeong Jongbok, Gijang County Council Chair Park Hongbok, county council members, Busan Metropolitan Council members, library officials, and local residents, to celebrate the library's opening.

Ilgwang Library is expected to establish itself as a complex cultural space where residents can enjoy knowledge and culture. Construction began in January 2023 and was completed in June 2025, with a total project cost of 19 billion won. The library has a total floor area of 3,000 square meters (one basement floor and three above-ground floors) and is equipped with a general reference room, a multimedia zone, a children's reference room, and a children's complex cultural space called "Deullak Nallak." It houses a collection of about 50,000 books.

The library will undergo pilot operation throughout November and is scheduled to begin full operation in December. During the pilot period, visitors can use the reading rooms and browse books, but book lending and returns to other libraries will be restricted. For details such as operating hours, please refer to the Ilgwang Library website or contact the library by phone.

Governor Jeong Jongbok said, "I am delighted that Ilgwang Library is opening in this perfect season for reading," adding, "I hope that Ilgwang Library, embraced by the sea, will become an open repository of knowledge for residents and a cultural space for relaxation."
