Imsil County Conducts 'Child Abuse Prevention' Campaign at Middle School and Other Locations

Imsil County in North Jeolla Province announced on the 14th that it had conducted a preliminary campaign to prevent child abuse on the 13th at Imsil Dong Middle School and the Imsil County Youth Culture House.

This campaign was organized ahead of Child Abuse Prevention Day on the 19th, with the aim of protecting children's rights and raising awareness about abuse prevention within the local community.

The campaign involved Imsil County, the local police station, and other related organizations, and carried out promotional activities targeting elementary, middle, and high school students, as well as county residents, to prevent child abuse.

Leaflets and promotional materials on child abuse prevention were distributed to students on their way home from school, parents, and local residents, and information was provided on the child abuse prevention hotline and reporting procedures. The campaign focused on emphasizing the importance of prompt reporting in the event of child abuse and on delivering messages about positive parenting.

According to statistics, the number of reported child abuse cases continues to rise nationwide, and the number is also gradually increasing in Imsil County, highlighting the need for residents' attention and active response.

The county plans to further strengthen the public response system for protecting abused children and to improve residents' awareness of child abuse prevention through ongoing education and promotional activities.

County Governor Sim Min stated, "Child abuse is not just an individual issue, but one that requires the attention of society as a whole," and added, "We will work to spread a culture of positive parenting that respects children as they are, and strive to create an environment where children can grow up safely and happily."
