Mercedes-Benz to Launch 40 New Models in 2 Years... Korea to Host "Acquisition Hub"

"Strengthening Collaboration with Key Partners Samsung and LG"

Mercedes-Benz will launch 40 new models worldwide, including electrified vehicles, over the next two years, with the largest number of new models ever introduced since the establishment of its Korean subsidiary in 2003. Next year, the company plans to establish its first "procurement hub" in Asia in Korea, strengthening supply chain cooperation with key domestic partners such as Samsung and LG.

Ola Kallenius, Chairman of the Board and CEO of Mercedes-Benz Group AG, stated at the "Mercedes-Benz Future Strategy Conference" held on the 14th at Paradise City in Yeongjongdo, Incheon, that "Mercedes-Benz's future vision is to create cars that everyone aspires to own."

CEO Kallenius emphasized, "We will introduce the largest number of models in Mercedes-Benz's 140-year history, offering a diverse portfolio to meet all customer demands," and highlighted the importance of collaboration with partners such as Samsung and LG.

He referred to his meetings with Samsung and LG the previous day, saying, "We had productive discussions about innovation and technology," and added, "We mainly talked about what the next innovation will be and how we can push the boundaries of technology to make a leap forward."

He went on to explain that this strong cooperation with domestic companies led to the establishment of the "procurement hub." CEO Kallenius said, "The procurement hub will work closely with the research and development and procurement teams in Germany to manage the supply chain," adding, "It will serve as an opportunity to further strengthen collaboration with a variety of partners."

In addition, he announced plans to introduce the new customer-centric sales method, "Retail of the Future," which has achieved high customer satisfaction in 12 countries, to Korea next year.

On this day, CEO Kallenius unveiled several models for the first time in Korea, including the all-electric SUV "The All-New GLC with EQ Technology," which debuted in Germany in September, "The New Mercedes-Benz CLA," the high-performance concept car "Concept AMG GT XX," and the next-generation electrified van concept "Vision V."

The GLC, scheduled for release in the first half of next year, is the first model to embody Mercedes-Benz's next-generation electrification strategy, featuring the brand's signature chrome grille and, for the first time, the 99.3 cm "MBUX Hyperscreen." Notably, it is equipped with an intelligent system powered by the AI-based "MB.OS Superbrain," allowing for precise control of all operating devices and sensors, from infotainment and convenience features to the charging system.

The CLA is equipped with an 85 kWh lithium-ion battery and boasts a maximum energy efficiency of 12.5 kWh per 100 km, enabling a maximum driving range of 792 km on a single charge (WLTP standard). The GT XX is a four-door mass-produced sports car based on the high-performance AMG electric architecture (AMG.EA), while the Vision V is designed on the dedicated van platform (VAN.EA), combining the traditional van with a luxury concept.
