On November 13, the Gyeongbuk FTA Trade Promotion Center of the Gumi Chamber of Commerce and Industry, in collaboration with the Daegu FTA Trade Promotion Center and Hyundai Transys, held a training session titled "FTA Utilization and A to Z of Export/Import and Origin Verification Practices" at the Global Win-Win Cooperation Center of Hyundai Motor Company Human Resources Development Institute in Gyeongju.
This training was designed for executives and employees of small and medium-sized partner companies of Hyundai Transys, to help them respond to the reorganization of global supply chains and the strengthening of trade regulations by major countries such as the United States and the European Union.
The training was led by customs broker Moon Kyungjin from Jinsol Customs Corporation, who explained, using real-world examples: ▲ FTA post-verification procedures ▲ Guidelines for preparing documents for submission to the CBP (U.S. Customs and Border Protection) ▲ Domestic and international product classification (HS Code) authoritative interpretation cases ▲ The concept of non-preferential origin and practical determination based on U.S. standards ▲ CBP ruling cases ▲ Trends in major countries' customs regulations.
Customs broker Moon Kyungjin emphasized, "As the United States and the European Union are strengthening trade regulations citing supply chain restructuring and security concerns, partner companies must also advance their origin management systems. Accurate product classification and origin determination are key factors in preemptively mitigating future CBP verification risks."
A representative from the Gyeongbuk FTA Trade Promotion Center stated, "We will continue to expand customized training and consulting so that export companies in Daegu and Gyeongbuk can maintain stable competitiveness even in a complex global trade environment."
Meanwhile, the Gyeongbuk FTA Trade Promotion Center, with support from the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and Gyeongsangbuk-do Province, is operating various programs such as the "Visiting FTA and Trade Desk," "OK FTA Customized Consulting," and "FTA Post-Verification Response Training," striving to increase the FTA utilization rate and support risk management for local companies.
