Ferrari unveiled the plug-in hybrid (PHEV) super sports car 849 Testarossa for the first time in Korea on the 14th at the Banyan Tree Club & Spa in Jung-gu, Seoul.
The model name "Testarossa" originates from the red cam covers of the legendary 500 TR racing car from the 1950s. It represents the most powerful and iconic engine in Ferrari's history. The name was officially adopted for the Testarossa in 1984, which became a design icon of its era and one of the most famous road cars.
The 849 Testarossa stands at the pinnacle of Ferrari's lineup as a new flagship model, following the SF90 Stradale. Ferrari has concentrated its latest technologies into the "Pilot Car," designed for drivers who constantly push performance limits and seek to test the extremes of the vehicle.
The 4.0-liter V8 twin-turbo engine of the 849 Testarossa delivers 830 horsepower, and when combined with three electric motors, the total output reaches 1,050 horsepower. This is an increase of 50 horsepower compared to the previous SF90 Stradale. Despite the enhanced performance, extensive weight reduction efforts have enabled the 849 Testarossa to maintain the same weight as the SF90 Stradale, achieving the highest power-to-weight ratio (1.5 kg/CV) in Ferrari's production car history. The car accelerates from zero to 100 km/h in just 2.3 seconds.

To support its powerful performance, aerodynamic capabilities have also been significantly enhanced. The design, inspired by 1970s sports prototypes, generates 415 kg of downforce at 250 km/h, which is 25 kg more than the SF90 Stradale. In particular, the rear active spoiler and fixed twin-tail structure improve both aerodynamic function and visual refinement.
The vehicle control systems have also evolved. For the first time in a Ferrari, the "FIVE (Ferrari Integrated Vehicle Estimator)" system has been introduced, which predicts vehicle movement in real time to optimize traction control and the braking system. In addition, the new large brake system, which features brake-by-wire technology, enhances driving precision.

The interior is designed to be driver-centric, enhancing immersion. The driver can intuitively control the vehicle through a digital instrument panel and the new Human Machine Interface (HMI). Passengers can also view driving information through a dedicated display.
To commemorate the Korea premiere, Ferrari will host a private view event for the Ferrari 849 Testarossa at the Ferrari Banpo showroom in Seocho-gu, Seoul, from November 15 to 23.
Francesco Bianchi, President of Ferrari Far East and Middle East, stated, "The 849 Testarossa is a masterpiece that redefines the essence of the brand in the boldest way possible by Ferrari," adding, "We are delighted to introduce this monumental model to Korean customers who deeply understand the ultimate values that Ferrari pursues."
