Governor Cho Sangrae of Gokseong Makes Consecutive Visits to Central Ministries and National Assembly to Secure National Funding

Gokseong County in South Jeolla Province recently announced that it is making all-out efforts by visiting central government ministries and the National Assembly to address local issues and secure special grants for the second half of 2025.

The county is currently focusing all administrative resources on securing the budget needed to overcome the limitations of local finances and to improve the quality of life for its residents.

On November 5, Cho Sangrae, Governor of Gokseong County, met with Ha Jongmok, Director General of Local Finance at the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, to emphasize the necessity of reflecting special grants in the second half of the year. He also requested tailored support that takes into account the unique circumstances of rural areas with poor financial conditions.

Subsequently, on November 10, he met with Han Sunki, Director General of Local Finance and Economy at the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, to discuss ways to expand national funding for balanced regional development and requested active cooperation.

In addition, on November 12, he visited the National Assembly to meet with Assembly members Kwon Hyangyeop and Shin Jeonghun, asking for their cooperation in securing the national budget and improving the foreign seasonal worker system.

In particular, he explained the urgent need to expand the operation of public seasonal worker programs to address the labor shortage in rural areas and stressed the necessity of prompt institutional improvement.

Governor Cho stated, "Securing a budget for regional development is an essential task given the difficult reality of local finances. By directly visiting central ministries and the National Assembly, I will ensure that the voices of Gokseong County are heard and that we achieve tangible results."
