The city explained that the budget reflects its commitment to achieving stability in citizens’ livelihoods, investment in growth, and balanced development through continued expansionary fiscal policy.

On the same day, Mayor Jeong Myeonggeun of Hwaseong delivered an administrative address, stating that, based on a new administrative system with four district offices starting in February next year, the city will open a new era of “Hwaseong Together.” To achieve this, he presented three main policy directions: warm livelihoods, leaping growth, and a shining Hwaseong.

The city will allocate 170 billion won to stabilize livelihoods. This will support field-oriented public administration by issuing 1 trillion won in local currency-the largest amount in the nation-providing financial support to small business owners and SMEs, implementing integrated care services, and establishing the “Hwaseong Basic Social Model.”

In line with the central government’s policy of “Advancing to Become One of the Top Three AI Powerhouses,” the city will invest 123.5 billion won in 83 future industry-related fields, including AI and advanced industry development, to secure sustainable growth engines for the future.

To realize a “30-minute administrative living zone” centered around four general districts and to promote distinctive balanced development, the city will invest 397 billion won in infrastructure projects such as the tram construction project, the extension of the Sinansan Line to Hyangnam, the construction of an exhibition greenhouse at Yeoul Park, and the creation of the Golden Coastal Trail.

Mayor Jeong stated, “If stabilizing livelihoods protects today, investment in growth is the power that opens tomorrow,” adding, “We will successfully launch the new district office system next year and boldly move forward as a city preparing for an era of two million residents.”
