The Nanum Kiosk initiative, Samsung Electronics' employee donation platform, has marked its 10th anniversary.

On November 13, Samsung held the "2025 Day of Sharing" event at the Digital Hall in Suwon Digital City to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the Nanum Kiosk.

Launched in 2015 as an idea from employees at Samsung Electronics' Gumi plant, the Nanum Kiosk is a donation platform where employees can donate 1,000 won at a time by tagging their employee ID card. This year's Day of Sharing event was organized to highlight the achievements made through everyday donations by employees over the past decade and to wrap up the two-week Nanum Week, which began on November 3.

Approximately 100 people attended the event, including Jung Taeyoung, Secretary General of Save the Children; Yeo Seungsu, Secretary General of ChildFund Korea; Jeon Miseon, Deputy Secretary General of Good Neighbors; Kwon Soyoung, Head of Blood Services at the Korean Red Cross; and Park Seunghee, President of Corporate Relations at Samsung Electronics. Lee Siran, First Vice Minister of Health and Welfare; Kim Junhyuk, Assemblyman from the Democratic Party of Korea; Kim Yeji, Assemblywoman from the People Power Party; Kang Kyungsook, Assemblywoman from the National Innovation Party; and Lee Jooyoung, Assemblyman from the Reform Party, sent congratulatory messages via video.

In her welcome speech, President Park stated, "The Nanum Kiosk is a ten-year miracle that began with the small actions of our employees," adding, "We will continue to create positive change in our communities through everyday giving." Government and National Assembly officials also sent messages of gratitude and encouragement through video.

This year's top Nanum Kiosk donor, Hwang Kyungmoon, commented, "It brings me more happiness to brighten someone's day than to see the numbers in my bank account go up."

The Nanum Kiosk, which began at the Gumi plant in 2015, has since expanded to other Samsung affiliates and overseas locations. Currently, there are 151 Nanum Kiosks in operation-108 in Korea and 43 overseas-across 23 Samsung affiliates. Over the past ten years, the total amount donated has reached 11.2 billion won. These donations have been delivered to 3,770 children facing challenges due to rare diseases, disabilities, or illnesses.

During the event, a video commemorating the 10th anniversary of the Nanum Kiosk was shown. The video featured stories of employees from Samsung affiliates participating in donations through the Nanum Kiosk, as well as the healing and growth journeys of two beneficiaries: Sunmin (17), who aspires to be a dancer, and Minseo (9), who dreams of becoming a table tennis player.

Gong Minjun, who has donated through the Nanum Kiosk more than 50 times each month for eight years, said in the video, "Tagging my card every time I go for lunch or dinner has made the Nanum Kiosk part of my daily routine." Sunmin, who dreams of becoming a dancer, shared, "Just as I received help, I want to help other children achieve their dreams."

Samsung plans to further expand the Nanum Kiosk to more domestic and overseas sites to promote a culture of everyday giving.

During Nanum Week, Samsung employees practiced sharing in various ways, including in-person volunteering for local communities near business sites, donating through the Nanum Kiosk, and participating in blood donation campaigns. The number of participating employees reached approximately 88,000 across 23 affiliates in Korea. Over the 10-day period, excluding weekends, Samsung conducted special fundraising for 20 children, donating the proceeds to partner NGOs during the Day of Sharing event. The total amount donated by employees through the Nanum Kiosk during Nanum Week was 300 million won.

The mother of Yujun (alias), a beneficiary of the Nanum Kiosk, attended the Day of Sharing event to express her gratitude for the employees' warm donations. Yujun, who has a brain lesion disability and cannot move independently without assistive devices, was able to receive ongoing rehabilitation therapy thanks to the donations, and his physical balance has since improved. Yujun's mother said, "Thanks to the love and support from Samsung employees, Yujun has gained confidence. I believe the day will soon come when I see him take steps forward on his own."

Samsung employees voluntarily formed volunteer teams within their groups or departments and participated in various community service activities near their workplaces. They helped out at local welfare facilities and child support centers, and also took part in environmental clean-up activities in parks and rivers. Employees at Samsung Electronics participated in volunteer activities such as tree planting near business sites, cleaning animal shelters, maintaining the National Seoul Cemetery, guiding foreign tourists at Suwon Hwaseong Haenggung, and mentoring youth in the community.

Executives, including CEO Jeon Younghyun, also visited the "Hope Star Forest," a standard workplace for people with disabilities in Yongin, Gyeonggi Province, on November 10 to participate in a cookie-making volunteer activity. Noh Taemoon, Acting Head of the Home Appliance (DX) Division, took part in a mentoring volunteer activity for SSAFY trainees at the Suwon plant on November 11.

Samsung employees also participated in a blood donation campaign during Nanum Week. Since 1996, Samsung has held annual blood donation campaigns. This year, a total of 67 blood donation buses were operated at business sites nationwide during Nanum Week, with approximately 3,600 employees participating over the two weeks. In addition, Samsung donated four blood donation buses to the Korean Red Cross. Since January 2022, Samsung executives have contributed a portion of their special incentive payments, raising over 10 billion won, and have donated four blood donation buses each year.

During this year's Day of Sharing event, Samsung Electronics recognized outstanding employees from both the DX and Semiconductor (DS) divisions for their active participation in volunteering and donations, including Nanum Kiosk donations, in-person volunteering, blood donations, and talent sharing. Each affiliate also selected and awarded outstanding volunteer and donor employees within their organizations.
