The Security Investigation Division of the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency summoned Shin around 9 a.m. on November 13 to question him on charges including instigating unlawful entry into a special building and inciting obstruction of official duties.

Before entering the police station, Shin stated, "The right to resist, which the media and police call gaslighting, is about many citizens gathering to show our will; it cannot be considered violence," adding, "This is an excessive investigation." He also claimed that the people who held a rally in front of the Seoul Western District Court in January, ahead of the pretrial detention hearing for former President Yoon Suk Yeol, are the "real masterminds."

The police have booked nine individuals, including Pastor Jeon Kwanghoon of Sarang Jeil Church and Shin, as part of their investigation to uncover who was behind the incident at the Seoul Western District Court. Authorities are looking into whether they systematically managed conservative YouTubers-using psychological control (gaslighting) under the guise of religious faith and financial support-to induce participants in the court riot to engage in illegal activities. The police are also coordinating a schedule to question Pastor Jeon.
