This agreement was established to build a cooperative system with the Landscape Council, which possesses expertise in the landscaping field, in order to ensure the success of Yangpyeong County's ongoing garden city development and national garden promotion projects, as well as to contribute to the spread of garden culture and the development of the local community.
Through this agreement, the two organizations have agreed to cooperate in various areas, including: institutional and technological cooperation for the promotion of national and local gardens; sharing of information related to landscaping and gardens; collaboration on the creation of parks and gardens and the introduction of new technologies; expansion and preservation management of garden culture; and joint research on eco-friendly urban policies.
In particular, the Landscape Council, along with the signing ceremony, donated 5 million won to the Gyeonggi Community Chest of Korea, designated for Yangpyeong County, to support neighbors in need. This donation is not a one-time event but is planned to continue as a regular contribution, further promoting a culture of sharing within the local community.
Governor Jeon Jin Sun expressed his gratitude, stating, "This agreement is a solid starting point for realizing Yangpyeong as a garden tourism city. The warm donation from the Landscape Council is not just simple sponsorship, but a practice of sharing that plants the seeds of hope in the community."
He added, "Together with the Landscape Council, we will create a refined city where gardens and landscaping harmonize, and a true garden city where residents can enjoy happiness in nature."
Lee Jae Heung, President of the Landscape Council, stated, "We will actively participate in Yangpyeong County's efforts to spread garden culture and develop a garden city, and support the creation of beautiful and sustainable gardens and parks through our professional skills and experience."
Meanwhile, Yangpyeong County plans to use this agreement as an opportunity to strengthen the foundation for public-private cooperation in the landscaping and garden sector and to actively pursue policies for the realization of a sustainable garden city.
