Operating Loss in Q3 Increases by 37% Year-on-Year
Discussions Underway with Corporations and Institutions on AI Kiosk Adoption
Eastsoft, a company specializing in artificial intelligence (AI) services, announced on November 11 that on a consolidated basis, its sales for the third quarter of this year reached 25 billion KRW, with an operating loss of 4.5 billion KRW. While sales remained at a similar level compared to the same period last year, the operating loss increased by approximately 37%.
Eastsoft stated that it plans to lay the groundwork for further growth in its AI software business. The AI software business includes: the global AI subscription service “Perso AI”; an AI talent development education business; stable performance from the utility program “Altools”; expansion of the “Perso AI Human Kiosk” business to actively respond to the physical AI market; and the launch of the “Altools AI Subscription Service” to monetize AI services.
Perso AI participated in MIPCOM, a broadcasting and video content market held in Cannes, France, where it attracted interest from over 100 content production companies, OTT, and FAST operators. The company has begun discussions with some of these companies regarding the adoption of AI dubbing.
The Perso AI Human Kiosk was deployed at the forefront of the APEC event and was unveiled to global visitors. Eastsoft is continuing discussions and collaborations for purposes such as corporate distribution and product innovation, as well as on-site deployment in connection with public institutions.
The operating loss widened due to increased global advertising and promotional expenses and higher raw material costs aimed at growing the AI software business. Investments are being made to strengthen the global marketing base for Perso AI and to pre-purchase for the expansion of the Perso AI Human Kiosk business.
An Eastsoft representative stated, “We plan to maintain our existing business steadily while continuing to invest in new AI businesses,” adding, “As we secure favorable conditions in both policy and industry, we will further strengthen our competitiveness and translate it into business results.”
