Jangsu County Hosts 'World Calligraphy Jeonbuk Biennale Jangsu Exhibition' Until the 16th

Theme: "2025 Calligraphy, Soaring Over Jeonbuk's Landscape"

Jangsu County in North Jeolla Province will hold the World Calligraphy Jeonbuk Biennale 'Jangsu Exhibition' at the Jangsu Hannuri Hall Exhibition Room until the 16th.

According to the county on November 11, this exhibition, under the theme "2025 Calligraphy, Soaring Over Jeonbuk's Landscape," will showcase works by 40 local calligraphers who are actively working in Jangsu.

Through this exhibition, visitors can appreciate both the artistic value and traditional beauty of calligraphy, as the works transcend the boundaries of textual art to express the lives and philosophies of the artists, imbued with human spirit and introspection.

The exhibited works feature a variety of scripts, including Hangul and Chinese characters, and capture the atmosphere of Jangsu and the artistic sensibilities of the calligraphers through a harmonious blend of strong brushstrokes and delicate ink tones.

This exhibition is particularly meaningful as it offers a modern reinterpretation of the region's sentiments and traditions through the art of calligraphy. The works, which reflect the warmth of the local community on traditional Korean paper, are expected to deliver a gentle resonance and emotional impact to visitors.

Choi Hunsik, the county governor, stated, "I hope this exhibition will showcase the strength of Jangsu's calligraphy and serve as a turning point for a new leap in calligraphy culture," adding, "I wish for many people to experience the beauty and artistic spirit of calligraphy during this meaningful event."
