MBC, SBS, and KBS Each Surpass OTT by Over 11 Million Viewers
The monthly viewership for each of the three terrestrial broadcasters has surpassed 26 million per channel, significantly outpacing OTT platforms.
According to a report released by IGAWorks on November 11, last month’s TV viewership numbers for major channels were as follows: MBC recorded the highest with 26.84 million viewers, followed by SBS with 26.4 million, KBS 1TV with 26.26 million, and KBS 2TV with 25.18 million.
Among paid broadcasting channels, tvN had the largest audience with 22.82 million viewers.
During the same period, Netflix had the highest number of users among major OTT apps, with 15.04 million. However, this figure was more than 11 million fewer than the monthly viewership of terrestrial broadcasters.
This report is based on the analysis of data from 18 million set-top boxes operated by the three IPTV providers: KT, SK Broadband, and LG Uplus.
