Waking Up to a Baby Lion Beside You... Chinese Resort Offers Unique 7-Minute Morning Service

Service Available for Only 20 Rooms Per Day
Price Set at 128,000 KRW Per Night

A resort in Jiangsu Province, China, is making headlines for offering a unique service where a baby lion personally wakes up guests in the morning.

According to Xin Kuaibao and Jimu News on November 11, a resort located in rural China provides a service in which a baby lion wakes up guests. This service is available only from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. and is limited to 20 rooms per day. The experience lasts about seven minutes and a handler accompanies the lion at all times. The cost is 628 yuan per night (approximately 128,000 won).

To receive a morning call from the baby lion, guests are required to sign a contract at the front desk. This appears to be a precautionary measure against potential risks. An employee at the resort stated, "The baby lion morning call service is fully booked until the 24th," and emphasized, "Please pay attention to safety."

According to reports, an official from the Sucheng District Culture and Tourism Bureau clarified, "The procedures for managing animals at the resort do not fall under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism."

Meanwhile, in June, a hotel in Chongqing, China, sparked controversy by offering a morning call service with a red panda. Guests could receive a red panda wake-up call for 2,000 to 3,000 yuan per night (approximately 410,000 to 610,000 won), making the service popular. However, the hotel reportedly received an order from the Chongqing Forestry Bureau to stop all contact between guests and wild animals. At the time, Gaimian News reported, "With the development of China's tourism industry, some hotels and tourist attractions are launching various animal experience services to attract visitors," and pointed out, "The urgent challenge is to satisfy tourists' desire for unique experiences while ensuring the safety of both guests and animals."
