Jeonju City to Hold 'Sori·Hangeul-Based K-Content Vision' Seminar on the 13th

"Driving Regional Growth and Creating Added Value"

Jeonju City and the Jeonju Policy Research Institute will hold the 'Sori·Hangeul-Based K-Content Vision Establishment Seminar' at 10 a.m. on November 13 at the Wanpanbon Culture Center.

According to the city on November 10, the seminar aims to shed new light on the value of Jeonju's unique cultural assets-Pansori and Wanpanbon-and to create regional growth engines and added value by integrating them with future technologies.


Through this seminar, the city plans to broadly explore both the vision and specific action plans for developing convergent and integrated content, capitalizing on Jeonju's status as 'the most Korean city,' the birthplace of K-Sori, and the center of Hangeul publishing culture, where tangible and intangible traditional resources are concentrated.


The seminar will feature three presentations: 'The Convergence of K-Sori and Technology' by Lee Chungoo, Research Fellow at the Hyangyak Research Institute; 'Industrialization and Globalization Strategies for Hangeul Assets' by Ahn Junyoung, Director of the Wanpanbon Culture Center; and 'Directions and Challenges for the K-Content Vision' by Hong Seongdeok, Professor at Jeonju University.


This will be followed by a comprehensive discussion chaired by Professor Hong Seongdeok, with participation from a total of 11 experts: Lee Seongguk, Vice Chair of the Culture and Economy Committee of Jeonju City Council; Choi Rakgi, CEO of the Jeonju Cultural Foundation; Kim Dongcheol, CEO of the social enterprise ONGO; Ahn Soyoung, Head of the Future Industry Division at the Jeonju Information & Culture Industry Promotion Agency; Kim Byeongo, Professor at the Minerva School of Jeonju University; Jang Chunghui, Research Fellow at the Jeonbuk Studies Research Center; Jang Eunok, Team Leader of Planning 1 at the Jeonju International Sori Festival Organizing Committee; Kim Deoksun, Director of Policy Development at the UNESCO Asia-Pacific Intangible Heritage Center; Kim Sunhee, Curator at the Jeonju Hanok Village History Museum; Oh Minjeong, Head of the Regional Startup Ecosystem Team at Krypton; and Park Mija, President of the Jeonju Policy Research Institute.


The city and the Jeonju Policy Research Institute also intend to use this seminar to strengthen the foundation for collaborative governance among various stakeholders and to broaden consensus on the vision's implementation. To this end, Hong Seonghun, a German government-certified organ builder (Orgelbaumeister), is also scheduled to attend the seminar.
