Gangseo District Council Vice Chairman Reported for 'Hit-and-Run Against Fellow Council Member'... Voluntarily Appears Before Police

The vice chairman of the Gangseo District Council in Seoul is under police investigation after a report was filed alleging that he hit a fellow council member with his car and fled the scene without taking any action.


According to the police and other sources on November 7, the Gangseo Police Station in Seoul received a report earlier that day stating that Vice Chairman A struck fellow council member B with his vehicle and then drove away. Authorities are currently verifying the facts of the incident.

Earlier, council member B reported to the police that at approximately 5:55 p.m. that day, Vice Chairman A hit him with a car in the underground parking lot of the Gangseo District Council in Seoul and left the scene without taking any measures.


The police reviewed nearby closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage, and both A and B voluntarily appeared at the police station for questioning.


B is understood to have received medical treatment at a hospital for injuries sustained in the incident.


A police official explained, "There was a traffic accident, and the police are investigating the related circumstances."
