Strengthening Competitiveness in the Robotics Industry through Industry-Academia Collaboration
Sejong University announced on November 7 that it has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Samhyun for mutual cooperation in technology collaboration, technology exchange, and joint research in the field of robotics.

Through this agreement, Sejong University plans to combine its research capabilities in artificial intelligence (AI), software, and hardware with Samhyun’s core technologies, such as smart actuators and smart power units. The two parties will collaborate on operating a joint research lab, conducting joint R&D in AI, software, and hardware for robotics, and carrying out collaborative business projects where possible.
Sejong University is focusing on research and development for the application of artificial intelligence in robotics, centering on its Department of AI Robotics.
Founded in 1988, Samhyun is a leading manufacturer specializing in smart actuators and smart power units, developing next-generation core modules for various industries including automotive, robotics, aerospace, and defense. In particular, the company has recently strengthened its robotics portfolio by securing advanced hardware and precision control technologies, such as joint modules for humanoid robots. Through this collaboration, Samhyun plans to further expand its research and development scope to include integrated AI and software technologies for robotics.
