Plaques Presented to Oven Brothers, Coffee 1011, Hanmin Dakgangjeong, and SGN Bio Co., Ltd.
Daejeon City has selected four businesses-Oven Brothers, Coffee 1011, Hanmin Dakgangjeong, and SGN Bio Co., Ltd.-as the "2025 Promising Small Business Owners" and presented them with plaques.
Since April this year, the city evaluated 117 companies on growth strategy, market expansion potential, and product creativity, ultimately providing 45 million won in growth support funds and consulting services to the four selected companies.
As a result, these companies have achieved tangible outcomes, such as increased sales and employment through new product development and enhanced marketing, as well as expanded sales channels, growing into competitive brands that represent Daejeon.
Oven Brothers developed "Dengdeuresse," the only French dessert of its kind in Korea, raising nationwide recognition based on its uniqueness and expertise. Through steady growth, the company has evolved from a small neighborhood dessert shop to a leading local dessert business with its own headquarters.
Coffee 1011 has led the popularization of specialty coffee, growing alongside the local community around Daedeok Research Complex with its unique brand that fuses science and coffee. The company is now expanding the value of coffee culture beyond the region to the national level.
Hanmin Dakgangjeong started in the traditional Hanmin Market and is now growing into a new regional food brand that connects tradition and trends by developing sauces tailored to the tastes of Millennials & Gen Z.
SGN Bio Co., Ltd. owns a variety of customized cosmetics brands based on patented ingredient development and is emerging as a leading regional cosmetics company in K-beauty, leveraging differentiated competitiveness in both domestic and international markets.
Lee Jangwoo, Mayor of Daejeon, stated, "The innovation and challenges of small business owners are the driving force behind the competitiveness of the local economy, and their passion is enhancing the brand value of Daejeon. We will continue to provide policy support so that they can grow into successful models recognized nationwide."
Meanwhile, since 2023, the city has annually selected and supported four promising small businesses. Some of these companies have demonstrated clear achievements, such as an 81% increase in sales, entry into overseas markets, and a 300% boost in productivity, thereby proving the growth potential and effectiveness of the program.
