A collision between cargo trucks in Jangseong, Jeonnam resulted in the death of a woman in her 50s and left a man in his 20s with serious injuries.
According to the Jangseong Police Station on November 7, at around 6:28 p.m. the previous day, a 1-ton cargo truck driven by a man in his 20s, identified as A, and a 4-ton cargo truck driven by a man in his 50s, identified as B, collided at an intersection near a logistics center in Seosam-myeon, Jangseong County.
As a result of the accident, a female coworker of A, who was in her 50s and was riding in the 1-ton truck, died. A is in critical condition and is receiving treatment. The driver of the 4-ton truck, B, did not sustain life-threatening injuries.
Based on evidence that the 4-ton truck ran a red light, the police plan to charge B with violating the Act on Special Cases Concerning the Settlement of Traffic Accidents and other related offenses.
