Event Begins on November 20
A Local Win-Win Initiative
Gokseong County, South Jeolla Province (Governor Cho Sangrae), announced that it will host a gratitude event called "Seomjingang Train Village Local Drink" in collaboration with local businesses, starting from November 20.
This event is a local win-win initiative that provides a 3,000 won coupon to paying visitors of Seomjingang Train Village, which can be used at local cafes, encouraging tourist spending to benefit the local economy.
Accordingly, the county has been recruiting cafes to participate in the event from November 4 to November 14. The three requirements for participation are: the cafe must be operating within Gokseong County, must be registered as a provider of digital tourism resident card benefits, and must be able to process coupon usage and settlement during the event period.
Participating businesses will receive post-event settlements of 3,000 won per coupon used during the event, and the county will promote participating cafes through official promotional materials and social media channels.
A county official stated, "This event is a win-win program that, in celebration of the year-end, expresses gratitude to tourists and offers local cafes an opportunity to attract new customers. We hope that a cup infused with the sentiment of Gokseong will make the region even warmer."
Meanwhile, Gokseong County plans to expand various events for businesses participating in the digital tourism resident card program, and to launch initiatives such as "Local Table" with local restaurants and "Local Stay" with local accommodation providers.
