On November 6, the city of Gwangmyeong held the third "Golden Lunchbox Regular Sponsor" certificate presentation ceremony in the city hall conference room in collaboration with the Gyeonggi Province branch of the Korean Red Cross.

At the event, eight companies and individuals joined as sponsors, including Office Depot Gwanse Customs Intersection Branch, Dongsan Precision Engineering, Kwangsung Electric, Samsong Bakery Gwangmyeong KTX Station Branch, Yudaegam Galbi, Lee Jongbun (Auditor of the Gwangmyeong City Council of the Korean Red Cross), Kim Hyeonja (Treasurer of the Gwangmyeong City Council of the Korean Red Cross), and Hansol FNC.

The "Golden Lunchbox" project is a future-oriented welfare model in which the city establishes a public-private partnership system to simultaneously promote welfare for vulnerable groups and a virtuous cycle in the local economy. The city provides 100,000 won worth of "Gwangmyeong Love Local Currency" per household to 200 single-person households of young and middle-aged adults to help prevent meal skipping. The welfare benefits are then channeled into sales for local small businesses, making this an innovative ESG-based welfare project.

To ensure stable operation of the project, the city and the Gyeonggi Province branch of the Korean Red Cross have jointly conducted a campaign, resulting in a total of 21 companies, organizations, and individuals participating as regular sponsors and raising 12.6 million won in annual donations to date.

Seungwon Park, Mayor of Gwangmyeong, said, "The Golden Lunchbox project is an exemplary case of sustainable public-private partnership that supports both welfare and the local economy. Through the continued participation of citizens and sponsors, we will create a virtuous cycle of sharing and drive even greater change."

The city and the Gyeonggi Province branch of the Korean Red Cross plan to further expand the ecosystem of humanitarian welfare models and public-private cooperation by promoting joint ESG-based projects, linking with the "Hometown Love Fund," building local community assets, and strengthening collaboration between small businesses and welfare organizations.
