He continued, "Your dedication is Hanam City's competitiveness, and to support this, I will do my utmost to improve welfare and the working environment."

The city is currently implementing a variety of welfare policies to boost employee morale and support self-development.

The number of promotions to level 8 positions will be expanded as much as possible, and starting in 2026, the 'Personnel Grievance Review System' will be introduced. In addition, foreign language education expenses will be subsidized up to 990,000 won per person annually. Graduate school tuition support will also be doubled from 1.5 million won to 3 million won per semester starting in 2026, and a new monthly allowance of 50,000 won will be introduced for those covering work during childcare time.

During the monthly meeting, Yong Duck Lee, former country manager of Nvidia Korea and CEO of leading AI company BaroAI, delivered a special lecture on "The Future of AGI (Artificial General Intelligence)."

CEO Lee explained, "AI is software designed to solve new problems at a human level of performance, and AGI is highly advanced intelligence capable of thinking, judging, and reasoning like a human."

He shared his experience leading the development of the GPU industry at Nvidia from 2006 to 2018 and discussed changes in the AI ecosystem since founding BaroAI.

He particularly noted, "AI is ushering in an era where creativity and imagination are at the center, moving beyond simply processing information to provide answers," and predicted, "In the future, interfaces will go beyond LLM (Large Language Model)-based sentence interfaces to those that communicate through thought."

He also emphasized, "Amid the technological flow from AI platforms to on-device AI, AI robots, and AI humans, artificial intelligence will drive innovation in various fields such as autonomous vehicles, healthcare, and education," adding, "In particular, synthetic data and brain-computer interface (BCI) technologies will be at the core of the AGI era."

Mayor Lee Hyunjae said, "Through today's lecture, we confirmed that AI can become a new tool for administration and citizen services, beyond just a technology," and added, "Hanam City will actively incorporate artificial intelligence into administrative efficiency and citizen-tailored services to achieve a leap forward as a smart city."

He further stated, "Creating an environment where employees can work with pride directly leads to citizen happiness," and added, "The driving force behind Hanam City's growth has always been the dedication and passion of our staff."
