The Women Leaders Forum is an event designed to share experiences and wisdom so that women can grow as leaders. This year marks the 14th forum, held under the theme "Women, Lead the Great Transformation," and women leaders from various sectors attended the event. In addition to Assemblyman Jung, Assemblyman Kim Mia of the People Power Party, Assemblyman Park Ji-hye of the Democratic Party, and Assemblyman Lim Mia of the Democratic Party, as well as other members of the National Assembly, were present.
Assemblyman Jung, a member of the National Assembly's Gender Equality and Family Committee, stated at the event, "I believe the reason we have gathered here today is so that stages like this, where there are many women, will no longer feel unfamiliar but become commonplace." She added, "As today’s theme suggests, I will work hard as a lawmaker to ensure that women can take the lead in society," and emphasized, "The most important point is that there must be many women among policy decision-makers."
Assemblyman Park explained, "Gender equality is no longer just a human rights issue but has become a factor in growth and economic power," and added, "Even in this era, many women gathered here are still facing real-life challenges." She continued, "The government has promised institutional improvements, but I believe there is still much to be done in terms of cultural change," and said, "There is still much work left for us to unite our efforts as a society." She also remarked, "I hope we can all become comrades and overcome these difficulties together."
Assemblyman Kim, the secretary of the People Power Party on the National Assembly’s Health and Welfare Committee, said, "I am truly overwhelmed to see so many women gathered here at once." She continued, "The theme of today’s event is for women to lead the great transformation, and I sincerely hope everyone will ride the wave of this transformation," adding, "I will do the same." She also introduced the counseling hotline '1308,' a system for so-called 'at-risk pregnant women' who are facing economic or physical difficulties.
