Gyeonggi Province to Attract Leading AI Companies to Hanam Gyosan... Applications Open Until December 5

Gyeonggi Province has announced plans to develop the Hanam Gyosan New Town as a key hub for the artificial intelligence (AI) industry and is moving to attract leading AI anchor companies.

The province stated that out of the total 6.31 million square meters of Hanam Gyosan, it will designate a 71,443-square-meter special planning zone for the creation of an AI Innovation Cluster, where AI talent development and advanced industries will be integrated. Gyeonggi Province will accept applications for anchor companies from November 6 to December 5.

To enhance fairness and expertise in the selection process, Gyeonggi Province will establish and operate the 'Public Housing District Enterprise Attraction Recommendation Committee.' The committee will comprehensively evaluate companies based on their capabilities, business feasibility, funding plans, and potential contributions. Among companies scoring at least 700 points out of 1,000, the one with the highest score will be recommended to the governor as the selected company.

Through this recruitment, Gyeonggi Province aims to transform Hanam Gyosan New Town into an 'AI Self-Sustaining City,' a new urban model where industry, research, education, and jobs are organically connected, thereby enhancing the city's potential for sustainable growth through AI technology.

Previously, Gyeonggi Province Governor Kim Dongyeon pledged at the National Assembly forum on 'Sustainable Future Cities and Strengthening National AI Competitiveness' held in August that "Gyeonggi Province will rapidly develop Hanam Gyosan New Town into Korea's leading 'AI City.'"
