On November 5, as the KOSPI plunged in tandem with a sharp decline in U.S. tech stocks, the status board at Hana Bank's dealing room in Jung-gu, Seoul, displayed the KOSPI and KOSDAQ indices. As of 9:09 a.m. that day, the KOSPI opened at 3,997.87, down 123.87 points (3.01%) from the previous session, falling below the 4,000 mark and surrendering the 3,900 level just seven trading days after surpassing 4,000.
