The USS George Washington (CVN-73), an aircraft carrier of the United States Navy, has arrived at the Busan base.
According to the Navy on November 5, the U.S. Navy's Carrier Strike Group 5, including the USS George Washington, entered the Busan operational base on this day for resupply and crew rest. In addition to the USS George Washington, the vessels that arrived include the cruiser USS Robert Smalls and the Aegis destroyers USS Milius and USS Shoup, making a total of four ships.
The Navy stated, "Taking the arrival of Carrier Strike Group 5 as an opportunity, we plan to enhance exchange and cooperation between the Republic of Korea and U.S. navies and further strengthen the combined defense posture."
