Uijeongbu’s Signature Food Festival: 18th Uijeongbu Budae Jjigae Festival to Be Held on the 8th

Uijeongbu Urban Corporation announced on November 5 that it will host the 18th Uijeongbu Budae Jjigae Festival on November 8 in the Uijeongbu Budae Jjigae Street area.

Now in its 18th year, this festival aims to enhance the brand value of budae jjigae, Uijeongbu’s signature dish, and to invigorate the local commercial district.

Main programs of the festival include: the 2nd Cooking Contest using budae jjigae ingredients; a free tasting event with participation from 12 restaurants along Budae Jjigae Street; various experience and event programs for all ages; and cultural performances by local art groups, offering a wide array of attractions and activities for citizens.

This year, the festival will also feature unique cooking demonstrations using budae jjigae ingredients and a consumption promotion event linked to local currency, which are expected to further boost visitor participation and interest.

The Uijeongbu Urban Corporation Commercial District Promotion Center stated, "Uijeongbu budae jjigae has long established itself as an iconic dish representing Uijeongbu," adding, "Through this festival, we will do our utmost to promote the reputation of Uijeongbu budae jjigae nationwide and make a tangible contribution to revitalizing the local economy."
